A Comparison of MIL-STD 882C and MIL-STD 882D for Australian Defence Acquisition

چکیده
This report compares the use of the system safety standard MIL-STD 882C with MILSTD 882D for the use of Australian Defence Acquisition. It summarises the differences between the standards and examines the implications of the transition from MIL-STD 882C to MIL-STD 882D in the Australian Defence Acquisition environment. The conclusion drawn is that the approach taken by MIL-STD-882D relies on an acquisition environment that may not transfer to Australian conditions and that additional controls are required to apply MIL-STD 882D effectively.

Extending MIL-STD-1553 bandwidth: A study of impairments, EMI, and channel capacity
VMEbus Systems / August 2005 MIL-STD-1553 is a serial, time-division multiplex data bus that has been used as the primary command and control data interconnect in military aircraft for the past three decades. MIL-STD1553’s robust performance, high level of interoperability, large installed base, and well established infrastructure of vendors has made it the network of choice for military avioni...

MIL-STD-1553 is a military standard that defines the physical and logical layers, and a command/response time division multiplexing of a communication bus used in military and aerospace avionic platforms for more than 40 years. As a legacy platform, MIL-STD-1553 was designed for high level of fault tolerance while less attention was taken with regard to security. Recent studies already addresse...
متن کاملPerformance of Coded Offset Quadrature Phase-Shift Keying (OQPSK) and MIL-STD Shaped OQPSK (SOQPSK) with Iterative Decoding
We show that, similar to the trellis-coded modulation representation of MIL-STD shaped offset quadrature phase-shift keying (SOQPSK), offset quadrature phaseshift keying (OQPSK) can be decomposed into a “degraded” trellis encoder and a memoryless mapper. Based on the representations of OQPSK and MIL-STD SOQPSK as trellis-coded modulations, we investigate the potential coding gains achievable fr...
متن کاملExperiences in the Adoption of Requirements Engineering Technologies
It has been known since as early as the 1950s that addressing requirements issues improves the chance of systems development success. In fact, whole software development standards (such as MIL-STD-2167, MIL-STD-2167A, MIL-STD-498, and IEEE/EIA 12207) were designed to enforce this behavior for software-intensive systems. Relatively recently (sidebar) a new field of study, requirements engineerin...
